Top-ranked Wisconsin women’s hockey wins in shootout, after 2-2 tie with No. 11 St. Cloud State

Kirsten Simms scored in the shootout and goalie Ava McNaughton stopped three shots in leading the top-ranked University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team, after a 2-2 tie after overtime Sunday with No. 11 St. Cloud State.

It’s just the third time this season, the Badgers haven’t won, and comes a day after beating St. Cloud State by three goals.

Wisconsin does currently has some La Crosse roots with Katie Kotlowski playing defense and in her final season.
