The Milwaukee Brewers are losing a fan favorite and power from both the middle of their lineup and the middle of the infield.
Shortstop Willy Adames has agreed to a $182 million, seven-year contract with San Francisco, providing the Giants with a power-hitting shortstop in the prime of his career, according to a person familiar with the negotiations.
The 29-year-old Adames spent most of the past four seasons with the Brewers, who are coming off a year where Wisconsin taxpayers are contributing $500 million to upgrade the stadium, while the team is contributing $100 million.
