Lansing VFW Auxiliary #5981 is holding their Annual National Vietnam Veterans Day Soup & Sandwich Supper on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 3pm-7pm at Immaculate Conception Church Hall, 648 Main St, Lansing, Iowa. A Ceremony of Gratitude, to commemorate National Vietnam Veterans Day and to honor all Veterans will begin at 5pm. We will be thanking our Nation’s Veterans for their service and remembering their sacrifice to protect our nation during the Vietnam War and wars beyond. Speakers at our Ceremony of Gratitude include: Iowa House Representative Jason Gearhart, District 64, who is also Vice Chair of the Veterans Affairs Committee; Michael Young, State Commander for Department of Iowa VFW; Judge John Bauercamper, Allamakee County Veterans Museum; Heather Homewood, Director Allamakee County Veterans Affairs; and Vietnam Veteran John Curtin, who is a Purple Heart recipient and was shot on 3 different occasions in Vietnam.The cost for the meal is simply a Freewill Donation. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend to Thank a Veteran!
