Movies with a Mission: “Heroin(e)”

Each month, we partner with a local nonprofit organization to explore how their work positively impacts our community, followed by a film screening that raises awareness for their mission.In recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, we will be screening the 2017 documentary “Heroin(e).” This Oscar-nominated film follows the stories of three women”a fire chief, a judge, and a street missionary”who are fighting against West Virginia’s devastating opioid epidemic.The event will open with a proclamation from the Mayor and County Chair for Overdose Awareness, and the Alliance to HEAL will facilitate a Q&A session following the film.The Alliance to HEAL brings together public, private, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations in the La Crosse area to enhance the well-being of individuals affected by opioid addiction.
